A Message from Traci Sears, NHMA Board

Good afternoon,

Please find the December 2021 DNRC Floodplain Program Highground Newsletter posted to the DRNC Floodplain Website.

There is one item of importance that did not make it into the newsletter.  FEMA has extended the comment period on the National Flood Insurance Program’s Minimum Floodplain Management Standards by 45 days.  This is your chance to provide feedback on changes to 44 CFR 60.3 until January 27, 2022.

FEMA will also hold an additional public meeting remotely via web conference to gather public feedback on December 15 from 1:00-2:30 MST.   Two public meetings already occurred in November.  The objectives of the meeting are to:

– Provide the public with information about the program.
– Provide the public with information about how to access the notice and submit written comments.
– Provide the public an opportunity to provide verbal feedback.

Public meeting participation is limited to 1,000 attendees so don’t delay in signing up.
